Connecting industry experts and university students

The world is now at a critical juncture, combating the real challenge of COVID-19 and the grim outlook of global warming caused by greenhouse gas emission. Established in Shanghai in 2005, the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI) has been actively working to promote Technology Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development (TESD) with public and private sector partners in China and overseas through its Centre For Entrepreneurship (CFE). The JI CFE successfully launched in collaboration with ten country partners the Entrepreneurship Week (EW2018) in Shanghai, followed by even bigger EW2019 in Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. In view of the COVID-19 situation, EW2020 will be the first virtual Entrepreneurship Week sponsored by IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS) from October 23-24. EW2020 sessions will involve panels by experts from all over the world and real case studies on technology entrepreneurship and innovation for sustainable development.
